Reading Room Hire Rates

PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE HELD OUR EXTREMELY LOW PRICING OVER RECENT MONTHS TO HELP ALL OUR USERS. BUT WE HAVE INCURRED SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER ELECTRICITY, INSURANCE AND WATER PRICES . WE HAVE REVIEWED OUR PRICING AND UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE HAD TO MAKE SOME INCREASES. IT IS IMPORTANT FOR US TO AT LEAST COVER OUR RUNNING COSTS FROM INCOME FROM USING THE ROOM, WHICH WE HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND.

Agreeing to use the Room means that you agree to abide by the rules and terms of use in terms of payment, respect for the equipment and facilities provided, and all other conditions including Fair Use. The Room does not have an Entertainment Licence, but private sessions may use the internet and screening facilities as they wish within the Law.

It is the trustees’ responsibility to manage hirings of the Room and their decision as to who has the use of the Room will be final.

Generally, the Room is let for 3 sessions daily: (Times include clearing up for next session)

These times are not finite and may be varied subject to availability and negotiation.

Sessions can include use of broadband, projector, crockery, water boiler and microwave/kitchen

Morning: 8am – 1pm
Afternoon: 1pm – 6pm
Evening: 6pm – 11pm
7 days/ week but starting 9am and ending 11pm Sundays only

Local/Regular users
£12 Per Session – includes kitchen, add £2 if the cooker is to be used

Bookings for regularly recurring events

Contact the bookings secretary to confirm availability and cost.

These bookings will be limited to a maximum 12 months’ period from the time of booking.

These bookings are made on the understanding that there may be other bookings that occur annually or with other timing that conflicts with the recurring event, and in that event the hirer must give way, no charge to be made for giving way. The recurring hirer will be advised in good time of such requests.

Local Occasional users
£15 Per Session – add £3 if the cooker is to be used
£25 per session for children’s parties and family gatherings – includes use of all facilities

Charity and Fundraising Events – £20 minimum or 10% of funds raised whichever is the greater

Commercial/Corporate users (bookings required well in advance if possible)
subject to discussion and negotiation. Typically a full day (9am – 5pm) would be charged at £15/Hr – minimum 4Hrs.
Includes use of all facilities Internet & WiFi; AV system with projector/sound; kitchen etc.

Fair Usage: To ensure the provision of quality Service to all our customers and to ensure that the behaviour of some does not disadvantage our customers and/or our Stakeholders, you agree to abide by any fair use policy which we may apply. The Room is let very much on a trusting basis, leave it as you find it and would expect to find it.
Fair usage may include (but not exclusively) reimbursement for crockery breakage, damage to the building and/or contents, missing items that were on the inventory, not shutting down heating, lighting, kitchen, hot water etc at the end of a session, excessive use of facilities, locking securely and not leaving the whole Room as clean and tidy as found. The Charity reserves the right to charge for these things should they occur.
